These beautiful woven tote bags are made by hand by ex-inmates of Oaxacan jails, who are fairly paid for their work. Each bag takes up to a day to weave. When they train to become weavers, they not only learn new skills and have the opportunity to support their families. They also develop a deeper pride in Oaxacan culture and their role in helping to preserve the state’s artistic traditions.
